Politics- Is there a College???
What is the qualification of a Politician in India??? We can find very few in this country like Dr Manmohan Singh, Dr A.P.J Abdul Kalam & Mr. Dayanidhi Maran & very few people who have achieved excellence in their educational streams & joined politics but they constitute only 10-15% of the total politicians in this country & the rest85-90% dominated by illiterates who have joined politics just to earn money & power. Its because of these groups, highly qualified & sincere politician’s goodwill are in jeopardy. There are politicians who are really true in their efforts of servicing mankind but the number is very less, hardly 5 or even less in every state. Their contribution doesn’t get proper recognition that they deserve & those people never expect recognition for their efforts they put towards improving man’s life. This situation in this country needs a change.
In every single field changes occur very rapidly, take this as an example Manufacturing Cost of a car in India was nearly rupees 6-7 lakh some years ago but now the price of the car starts from Rs 1 lakh onwards. In each & every field there is a change & improvement except in the field of "POLITICS”. This is the only field where the growth & fall can affect other areas in this country. Each & Every industry is dependent on Politics. Every industry is dependent on a Government Policy directly or indirectly. if the Government raises the Agricultural Loan interest , which ultimately affects the Agricultural industry. This situation can be applied to every department & industry in India.
A field like politics that is very crucial for everyone in every sector needs a change too. People involved in this field so called the "Politicians" have to possess some kind of educational qualification to enter in this field. There should be a governing body for politics too. There is Medical Council for the Doctors, There is a Institute of Charted Accountancy of India (ICAI) for the Charted Accountants & there is Bar Council for the Lawyers, Why can’t we have a body to govern Politics? Is it impossible?? .
Education is very vital in Politics, We need educated & well trained leaders to govern a country like India.! There has to be a qualification for the people who take up politics. Earlier this country possessed leaders like K. Kamaraj in Tamil Nadu, an politician widely considered to be the only kingmaker in Indian politics, and known for his honesty, integrity and simplicity.
Kamaraj dropped out of school when he was in the sixth grade. When he entered mainstream public life he felt handicapped and realized the importance of a good education. He educated himself during his periods of imprisonment. He hasn’t got a proper education but he excelled in politics. This is why Indians believed politics doesn’t need education & to provide opportunities to every single soul from every caste to participate in active politics & to serve mankind but this situation doesn’t exist now. People who doesn’t possess basic education joins politics just to earn only "money & Power" & they indulge in fraudulent activities in achieving this. This needs some very bad treatment to repair this situation. Most of the politicians doesn’t even possess a schooling background & they expect a salute, a person who needs to open their convoys door wherever they go & those people who do this are none other than IAS & IPS Officers of this country who have struggled for more than 4- 5 years after their Under graduation to get that 3 letter qualification. This is the current situation in this country.
This situation can be changed by introducing universities & colleges offering subjects like Public Administration, Ethics, Basic Laws in India for the "POLITICANS". There should be a separate body governing these colleges & universities for the politicians. Public Administration will teach how to garner public support, manage public funds, & how politicians should be able to manage public finances, carry out various managerial duties, motivate organizational teams, and understand the laws and ethics involved with public sector management.
If this system is introduced there will be milllions of Dr. Abdul Kalam in this country. !

"students"- A Jump into Politics..
Being asked the ambition of every student in this country, the answers were Software Engineers, Automobile Engineers, Fashion technology, Charted Accountants, MBA’s & etc but none of him or her desired to be a "Politician". Why is that?? . Why Politics are not chosen by educated youth's. Is it impossible? Some say that it is confined to frauds, criminals who are termed as Politicians in this country.
An efficient politics can change a man's life completely. It is the true form of Social Service in this country. Efficient management of a Government will reduce the need of donating blood, organs, building orphanages, old age homes, providing education to poor, building free hospitals etc so called the social services in this country. Current Politicians haven't realized the true meaning of politics, what they did is brought injustice to the word "POLITICS". They completely misused the word "Politics". The meaning of the word Politics in a Oxford Dictionary is "the activities associated with governing a country or a area". But the meaning of Politics according to Indian Citizens are " Committing Fraudulent Activities, misusing Government Money, taking undue advantage of the power they possess as politicians, doing all forms of illegal activities & above all encouraging & earning through bribes.
Casually whenever we see a fraudulent person who gains a personal advantage over others, we comment that he is eligible to join politics & he is termed as "Politician" . Why this comment from our tongue comes even without a second thought?? Has anyone given a thought for this??? . All the blames go to our current politicians who have made the way for politics as a chimera. People who deserve to join politics have given up because of these kinds of elements in our country. Nothing is lost even now; the so-called the future generation of India can take this field where they can bring justice to the word Politics & to the people of this country. This is not like a 100m sprint, this is similar to a relay race where the baton has to be passed, Similarly the responsibility of efficient management of the Government has to be passed from one generation to the next without any hindrance to the people. Students could participate in politics but take it up as a mission and not as a profession in order to uphold the democratic credentials of the country's polity.
If an 18-year-old can vote, he or she should be able to participate in politics as well and serve the nation. If students could take part in sports and theatre, there should then be no hindrance when it comes to politics. A student has the power & the ability to change things drastically in this country for the welfare of the Indian public. One of the best possible solution of bringing students into politics is by giving more importance to subjects like Political Sciences & they should introduce basic laws of this land at the school level, students should be given exposure in Indian Penal Code (IPC) & very important element is moral, ethics & Leadership qualities which should be made compulsory in schools as part of their learning. As a responsible citizen of this country we should protect & preserve the rich culture which India possess for centuries.
